Before And After

Some of you may remember I had managed to lose the original pictures of my garden when I move into the bungalow but our friendly estate agent came up trumps and sent my a couple of pics from archive of our garden and here it is in all its glory!
We moved into the bungalow in May 2009 and here are some photos taken today
A lot of hard work but we are really happy with the results and can now sit and enjoy our garden….thats when I am not potting all the plants, mowing the lawn, dead heading the flowers, weeding and watering like crazy:)

Thank you Marshmallow and Paul glad we did it all ourselves it would have cost a fortune to get people in we did most of the work last year to give ourselves a break from the renovation work in the bungalow lol! Only one room to do now .............would we do it again? Not on your nelly :)

Yes me too Nana :):):)

Well, all that effort was really worth while Nana, it looks like a really well loved garden, and not as Annie says, a wilderness! Congratulations on the resident in your bird box too, Keith has put up lots, but nobody seems to want them, what was that about a housing crisis?! Lol!

You have worked very hard to make this garden so very pretty ... well done to both of you. Could you tell me how often you clip, or trim, the Ivy? I have one similar on the back garden fence and never really know when is the best time to give it a trim. Thanks Nana d : o ))

Lovely! Great transformation. Lots of colours from the pots, especially like picture 5. Pots on pebbles. Been to the beach to get those? !!!. I've noticed that ~"thingy" wall hanging? on the last picture. That has given me an idea, I think I can get something like that near me. You've done wonders with your garden. BRAVO!

Lovely transformation; you must be proud of your efforts.... It's fantastic when one can look back at the 'before' situation; it makes the hard work even more worthwhile....
If I could pass on any worthwhile advice it would be "TAKE PICTURES BEFORE YOU START". Sadly, I rarely follow that maxim, I'm hopeless at remembering to take the 'before' photos.

Thank you everyone for such lovely comments, Shirley I tend to cut the Ivy back once a month it grows really fast and it doesn't seem to harm it when I first move in I did not know there was a wall underneath all the over grown ivy:) Ha ha yes I am blessed to have found helpful estate agents they were so good when we moved in strange and hard to believe but true:)

What a transformation and your grass is so green! It's surprising how many different types of bird you get in a garden and now you can sit out there with your binoculars and wine, admire your hard work and watch the birds too.
Enjoy! :-)

It looks all the better when you can see the before. You can see all the hard work. Your pots give you some lovely colour and the stones set them off well.
