Yeah! It was a nice day out but a bit windy though…..
The venue:
Narcissus bulbocodium
Dionysia bryoides
Gladiolus uysiae
Hepatica x schlyteri “Ashwood hybrids”
Hepatica x media “Millstream Merlin”
Hepatica nobilis flora plena
Iris reichenbachii
Ophrys vernixia
Soldanella alpina alba
Saxifraga suendermannii major
Various Dionysias
Tulipa kurdica
Plants Sale:
After seeing the show, we went down to Whitstable for lunch and had some native oysters which had more concentrated flavour than normal rock oysters. (top : rock oyster, bottom : native oyster – much rounder and flatter shell)
[added on 25/03/2014]
This is the one I purchased on that day – Soldanella carpatica

Thanks!
@Pcw
I envy your dionysia - I always fail.....
And I also bought a pot of Soldanella yesterday but purple/blue-ish one, not white.
@Seaburngirl
I liked the Ophrys, too - it just looks like "fly" to me.... ;-)

Lovely blog thanks for showing, love the hepaticas.
That's strange I bought a Soldenella Villosa just a couple of weeks ago too :-)

My S villosa hasn't reappeared yet :o(
I did mulch the area thickly so I will wait a little longer.

Lovely blog - thanks! Where in Kent do they have this show, by the way?

Thanks for all your comments, boys & girls!
My favourite of the show was definitely Hepatica x media “Millstream Merlin” - it's single flowered, but the colour was amazing and the size of the flowers was quite large. It was really an eye-catcher.
RHS web site doesn't seem to tell us the cultivation of soldanella, so I found it at one of Japanese gardening site - it doesn't like summer heat and wet so move it to shady spots, and needs to be exposed to winter coldness, but it hates strong cold wind. Preferably repot each year and remove dead leaves often.
AGS Kent is held at a girl school in Rainham.

Excellent.I have that Tulip but it doesn't flower like that. Those Dionysias are superb and something to aim at with mine.If I had to name a favourite though,it would be one of the easier ones,the Soldanella.
