little devil

as some of you know im getting prepared for the open garden 2 weeks today for charity and i enjoy it etc . last week i built a black godley looking sculpture near my pond .just a coincadance realy but none the less godley looking. it was built in my concrete circuler wall partly as somewear to put another sculpture and partly to stop jerry my springer jumping in and putting holes in my pond.he didnt go near it for 10 years . it dont make sense but still.

also at the back of my pond the split bamboo on a role was starting to break down and look a bit scruffy plus give jerry another possabillity to get in the pond. you see unless im there i dont let the dogs in my part of the garden unless im here . its the only way of stopping the dogs ruining it i find.i have been doing a bit of what i call outside pictures which consist of a piece of glass or flat three dimentional pottery framed with cement . the glass i paint and then use yaght varnish . then i frame it and varnish it again . its very effective and something else you can put on them bare walls .ive put a personal piece on the back with a cement calved in the shape of bones frame. i then put 2 old scaffold boards round the picture to totaly fill the gap .

anyway ive had this moulded concrete table in my posettion for a while now . its a mould of a figure holding something up if you can see it.there should be a big table top that goes with it but i never got that . this was a second as it had the odd air bubble in it . i snapped it up. anyway i decided to do a bust on it the day before yesterday and as i quite often do i just started not realy thinking of the end result.anyway as it grew it looked a bit like a grumpy zombie girl if ya like. skillen pointed that out so i added a smirk and made it more masculine and all i could see then was a little devil to go with my god. ive added 2 little horns and used some red cement dye on the last layer . i hope you enjoy it im very pleased . it will be dryish tomorrow and i can have a better look in the sunshine without the tarp ive had over it to stop the rain.

inside this at the bottom for weight and to fill it out are 2 old grinders that broke down while sculpting so i thaught it was quite apt putting them in a sculpture . at the top is some cavity wall insulation .i collect all sorts of rubbish as generaly there is a use for it somewear , sometime .

I can see your a bit of a artist noseypotter. Your work is very artistic and individual.
I have a love of coloured glass and learnt to make and repair stained gless windows. My work was more traditional in the styles of Tiffany, MacKintosh and Frank Lloyd Wright, although maybe not quite as good. lol
Maybe I should make something for the garden.
Best of luck with the open garden day.
