there were a number of happy events today, none of them planned [which always makes them better, i think] first off, Patrick came over…he had taken a week’s holiday, and wanted to talk to me about his garden, then, there was a lovely gentle, warm rain…a rarety here…so he transplanted some more of my plants, a mock orange, a daisy and some lily bulbs..that all went well…then he removed more of the pink edging from my garden, and we took it back to his….he is SO happy with the trees i gave him…yesterday a bird sat on the pear tree…he was thrilled..i remember that feeling when you realize that you have really planted a tree, and the birds like it…he was glowing with joy, he couldn’t stop smiling….made my heart sing…i would gladly give up any garden to make my boy so happy…he has just realized that he can indeed create a garden at his home..he has been trying to garden for many years, but with his physical and mental disabilities he has mostly ended up with a jumble of weeds..very discouraging for him….today he could see his garden for the first time, and i got to share that moment!then, back at my old garden, we found a toad! a lovely little brown fellow with big black eyes…he headed for the hosts, planted them in the sunny ramp bed ..what a treat! finally, i realized that i have an inground spot for my clematis…my rose that i planted at my arbour suffered winter kill, and left a spot for it…now i can use that metal container for some morning glories…thanks for reading all this, folks, i just wanted to share my happiness with you, you have been so supportive, i do appreciate it…

Nearly missed this one Pat, its a lovely blog, lots of low energy levels around here as well as all of us have been down with a nasty flu type virus, definitely a lot of mood swings in our house even on the lovely sunny days, hoping to get back into the swing of things now.
I'm so pleased Patrick is succeeding with his gardening efforts, I can well imagine how much joy his happiness brings to you, long may it continue.......
