New Watering System

My handyman, Glen, has just finished making my watering system much easier and safer for me to use. Up to now, I’ve been concerned about tripping over the hose, but he has put small square hooks around the bottom of my raised beds, and made it possible for me to get the hose without having to bend down to pick it up off the ground..always tricky for me, my balance is dicey at best..

Hi Odaatpat that's a nice idea anything that makes life safer and a little easier is always a good idea.

Thats a good way of staying safe and so much easier than dragging the hose about...

Sandra, Scotsmanvic, Linclass..thanks, everyone..Glen does such tidy work, i feel not only is it safer, but it looks better, too, not having the hose lying on the ground..somedays i had to leave it there, dragging it was difficult for me, even in my small garden..those things can be heavy at times..I'm a happy lassie today for sure..he also put up a hook for my little bird feeder..oh, joy!

thanks, Bathgate..it surely is..I'm much more relaxed knowing where the hose is..I was forever looking around for fear of tripping...

That's very neat indeed - what a good idea.

thanks, Steragram..Glen's mother is just a year or two older than I am..I think he's taken me under his wing..you should see how that spray thingie works..there's a lever that's easy to switch on or off, and the nozzle can go from a hard jet of water to the finest spray i've ever seen..he shopped around to get the easiest thing for me to use, and it's just perfect! He just beamed when i was obviously delighted with it ..it's so nice when someone takes the time to be thoughtful.. after years of being ripped off by mean spirited handymen, it's a joy to work with a true gentleman...

What a brilliant idea and what a handyman, hold on to him and don't let anyone spirit him away, as you say it's hard to find someone who puts in the extra's.
I asked a handyman to give me a price to replace the roof of a shed (36 ft long it might be) with me supplying the roofing sheets. The price quoted? £3.000:00, how did he come up with that? Needless to say it wasn't done!

hi Honeysuckle..you bet i'm hanging onto Glen..in fact i've asked him to cut my lawn, just to make sure he doesn't leave me! i hate it when someone tries to overcharge me just because i'm an old lady..since i've been on my own, i've refused to be pushed around..i'm having no more of that nonsense, thank you very much! here's hoping you can get your roof done for a reasonable price...

Lina, Steragram, Klahanie..thanks, everyone..i tried it out yesterday, the hose is a bit heavy, but with my garden layout i can rest the spray thingie on the wall of the raised bed so it's going to be fine..nice to be able to water the containers with the fine mist...
