Laziness is my only excuse....

I’ve just noticed that it’s been over a year since I last posted. Last summer went so fast, as did autumn and winter….

Here in Hertfordshire it has been a very mild winter, so everything got off to an early start, despite the shade and the clay. And now all the established plants are shouldering their way up like teenage rugby players, elbowing each other aside, treading on each others’ roots and generally being a bit oafish in a well-meaning sort of way.
But the best bit is that finally I actually have some lily of the valley coming into flower – just a few but I was beginning to think they’d never show up at all, and the bluebells are taking off too finally.

As other things seem to be growing well I am trying, for the nth time, to grow agapanthus, currently in pots. I am ever hopeful, even though this has always been doomed to failure in the past…

This is a photo of our baby cherry tree, which despite its size produces masses of cherries. And the area around the pond which is still a work in progress -great euphemism for I can’t be bothered to tidy it up any more!

And I have absolutely no idea why the photos have turned themselves sideways as that’s not how they were taken.

They appear sideways because you took them with your smartphone. I wrote a blog about this problem a few days ago, trying to find a solution. Personally I am fortunate enough to have a very good smartphone which shows all my pictures correctly, but I see here many pictures sideways and tried to help them. I suggested something which may work in your case if you read my blog.

That's a very pretty tree. Spring blossoms are always such a treat to see aren't they :)

I took the photos and uploaded them and the blog on my tablet. Still, never mind. Could be worse - it could be a sideways photo of my thumb.....

Hi Hywel, the blossom only lasts about 10 days but it's beautiful.
