BTW, I've posted a much more recent photo of my balcony that I took only a few days ago. This hardly looks like my balcony as it is this August! I posted three photos of the balcony one was this one, from June, the other two I took in the first day or two of August. I've also added a webpage address so you can see the photos full screen, much, much better than these photos on GoY. I wish there were a link to a bigger photo actually on GoY.

A few hours ago I realised that if I copied the URL of the page I should be able to view my photos in their original size from here by copying it & pasting it into my browser's address bar. So here goes!

Wow just viewed your pics taken on 1st August Balcony -great pictures you have managed to put a lot of plants in there-looks very colourful. I expect you have to be out there with the watering can quite often to keep them looking that good

Not really, Richard. Except for today, due to the exceptional temps, I just water them once a day. This year I've mixed moisture retaining crystals with the compost in the baskets so I've only had to water them once a day, instead of at least twice a day previous years. Being as the baskets are so full of mature plants & the very high temps we've had today I watered them about 7.30 am & then a 2nd time around 4pm.

do you garden on both sides of the fence? I'm stuck to only one side at the moment, until (fingers crossed) I can get a gate put in to the green beyond our gardens.

I can only grow plants on the balcony except for the pot you can see outside of the balcony, bottom, right hand corner of the balcony.

No, they are inside, only they are pushed out as far as I can get them to go without actually falling out onto the grass beyond! LOL!
