i was really quite suprized when he sat for ages right in front of me while i was sitting having my coffee this morning - i have no idea what type he is, but i think i will call him 'Borris' - so every one say hello to Borris!!!!! lol

He is a Peacock butterfly, so-called because of the large circular "eye " markings, similar to the markings on a male peacock's tail feathers. Incidentally, my toolshed floor collapsed during winter. A few days ago, i removed the debris and found some of these in the space between earth and floor joists. I think they must have overwintered in there.
Type "peacock butterfly" in the search box, am sure you'll get more info.
