Yes, a reddish-brown variety, commonly available, called "Red Star". You'll even get this in Tesco!
Have just noticed the withering lower leaves, which I'll twist off tomorrow.

Many Thanks!
Of course, haven't "lounged" here as often as I'd like to. I prefer foliage to flowers, veggies even more so, but will "get there". :-)

Aint it hilarious how we make these lovely havens to lounge in and then are never allowed the time to lounge, lol!
10 Aug, 2009
There's always time to lounge! About 3 seconds a year!

Thank You, Janette, hasn't it just? Your Carex "Milk Chocolate" has grown leaps and bounds, and is stunning. Many Thanks again, and great to "see" you here again. - X

I know what you mean David, the only time I seem to get the time to lounge is when I'm in someone else's garden !. Even then, I have to admit, I still have to fight the urge to get up and weed their flowerbed......lol You're area is really temping me to have a sit though, It looks fab !

Many Thanks, Fl, and know what you mean, too. I have to sit down, in any garden, and keep my eyes averted, or closed, lol!

Feel free to weed mine next time you're in Perth, David!

And mine mate, will supply food rations and a machete!!!!!

Oh Gr8! A trip to the Himalayas and a "tropical" jungle for the taking. Many Thanks, folks! Would need lots and lots of choc rations to keep my energy levels up, Indy!! :-)
Thank You, Skillen! It is very comfortable, so daren't sit here too long. :-)

You're welcome! I'd pay you in rhubarb crumble!!

Makes me think of a potential new garden theme - "Gone With the Wind". First plant in there would be Papaver orientale "Scarlet o'Hara", but, then again, these large bloomers aren't very wind-resistant, are they?

What???????????
LMAO!!!
13 Sep, 2009
Apple crumble makes you rumble,
Rhubarb tart makes you gaseous.
- OF COURSE! :-))
13 Sep, 2009
Dont set me off again!! Laughing I mean!!
13 Sep, 2009
Speaking of "rumbles", there's been no more "rumble in the jungle" from Indy. Has my request for "choc" rations forced him to make his own "cutbacks"?????????
13 Sep, 2009
Dunno!
13 Sep, 2009
No mate got lost in the post somewhere, choc rations not easily come by out here in the sticks but I'm sure we could work sommat out how about black forest gataeux with extra choclate flakes, and death by chocoate the pudding! can manage to whip them up on the old campfire without too much problem!
14 Sep, 2009
I just had banana & choc pancakes for brekky! (no bread!)
14 Sep, 2009
Hmmm, Indy, that might keep me going for a couple of hours!
Some excuse, Marie - "no bread" !
14 Sep, 2009
It's true! In both senses! But I had the stuff to make pancakes, thought I should eat some fruit, but wanted chocolate! Simples!
