The flowers look beautiful, I wish the'd last longer than one day. I did cut a few of the male flowers off and chop them up for a salad. They tasted slightly orangey. Nice!

O well, I wasn't sure if they'd do or not as it was a week or so after I planted mine that I gave them to you. Just goes to show that they need to be planted out early. It was worth a go I spose.

Yes I tried one or two in a salad I made, they have a mild taste of something, perhaps orange?????? They did add lots of colour to the salad, making it look very pretty. Unfortunately we haven't had many salads lately as the weather hasn't really been behaving itself up here in sunny lancashire. I'm still getting flowers of both sex's however I have not bothered with the pollination thing over the last week due to the rainy and windy weather. Its getting late in the season too, so even if they do pollinate I don't know if they'd have time to ripen before the first frost/harvest. Just praying that the ones I have already got growing will be ok and intime for that! Fingers crossed for a pleasant autumn.
