I saw a sign on one of these that said "Do not eat!" Very hot! I believe they are ornamental. They also had a variety that has white and purple leaves. I will post a pic of it later.

Looks a lot like chili pepper "Black Pearl". Most items I've read about this one say "ornamental!. My copy of "The Chile Pepper Encyclopedia", by Dave de Witt states that all the "ornamentals" are edible, can be pickled or dried, but are primarily grown for their foliage, compact habit, and unusual fruit.
GOY member Kmccue07 has a pic of "Black Pearl".

Looks great. Is this ornamental or can you eat the peppers?
