In the rains of august, there is inevitably mushroom. This patch is just next to the dahlias, northeast corner. Very cool bed I'm noticing.

Wouldn't touch these. Little brown is usually questionable. I saw an amanita in bloom today. I'll have to find a shot, they are the ideallic shroomy. Bright red caps with white speckles.

Random mushrooms in my garden this year had me worried that my boys would think them edible. I have no experience knowing if they are safe.

They are hard to tell MG. I'd say teach them to not eat mushroom unlewss they are sure what it is, (almost never).

Problem with that is that I just got them to start eating the ones I cook with! I don't want to tell them now that mushrooms aren't good! Ahh, the predicaments of picky children. I guess safety is more important than tasty cuisine.

Thanks Janey. I have a little too much fungi, will have to do something next year....lol. I'm trying to get a pic of our amanitas. Those are the classic red with white polkadots. They are so beautiful.
