Stone Wall

Along the path to the river there is now a big stone wall slowly being erected by the elderhostel amd denali foundation. Amazing work, out of river stone and tundra moss.

I must agree with Bernieh on this point - it is a great deal better than some of the concrete monstrosities we often see around! Better than a new brick wall as well!

I'm with you all. I thought this was just brilliant! It did remind me of shots I've seen of walls in english coutryside. Whoever this worker is also ran electric along the bottom row of stone so he can put in lighting. When the dark returns here, it is a bit frightening at first. I'm sure it'll keep his insurance down too since this is a public walk.

The amazing things is it looks as if it's been there for donkey's years....very nice with the moss and all.

Yes, I agree. Clever planning. It wasn't quite finished. I should get down there again and see how it looks now.

It looks so old, I was surprised when you said it was new. But then, aren't all stones Stone Age? :-)
