Hello Cestina. Welcome to Goy. You're off to a good start with these Iris. They are really colorful.

I'm afraid not - they came from an acquaintance, the librarian at the British Centre in Ceske Budejovice. I went in one day and she had a beautiful iris in a vase on her desk. I exclaimed at it and said they were my favourite flowers. She promised that when I finally had a garden over here she would give me some rhizomes and she was true to her word.
Irises do amazingly well in this part of the CR and you see them in front gardens all over the place. I must remember to ask to visit the librarian's garden next year - she said she specialises in them.
I've added a couple of photos with a longer view :-)
