My front garden

This is the front garden with the pieris and choisya that hopefully will be successfully moved. The idea is to move the plant to the left of the neighbour's garage wall and the philadelphus and lycesteria that's in the corner and replace them with said choisya and pieris in order to hide the patchy bits on the wall. If it was my wall I'd probably put up a screen but I can't attach anything so it has to be plants. This will leave the central area clear and I like the idea of paving - we also have drains and manhole covers to deal with in that small area - with a border all round. It's an almost triangular shape and other than removing some of the perennial geraniums, a lot of the planting can stay.

A lot of changes planned, and a lot of work involved. Good luck with it all.

Bernieh - So do I! Thanks
Silverbelle - I'm back to work tomorrow so I think I'll be getting someone else to do it for me. Who knows, he might come up with something better. I'll be keeping everyone updated.
Suey187 - Thanks - hopefully it'll all work out as planned.

Well, I've heard back from my little man so there could be some progress next month. Can't wait!

Well Keithsmum, I've just a wonderful tour around your beautiful garden ! Just what the Doctor ordered on a dull Sunday ! haha I love Cottage as well. I started with a patch in my back garden and loved it so much I've now got a patch in the front as well ! I'm not too hot on the names of things, and very often forget that I've planted something, but then have a wonderful surprise when it comes up !! That's the thing about Cottage though isn't it, I feel that there are no 'rights' or 'wrongs' ! Also LOVE your roses !! :-)))

Thank you Sue_b, I'm using the excuse of future work at the front as a reason to concentrate on the back! I had a lovely blue and yellow iris in flower at the front then recently, when I was doing a spot of tidying up, I pulled out a dead stick. Yikes, I just realised that was the lovely blue and yellow iris. There's now a large stone marking the spot. I don't want to lose it when the work starts at the front. I tend to put thing's in where there's a space - and yes, a lot are happy accidents.

Work started 15 minutes ago on the front garden! I managed to find the little iris and it's safely in a pot at the back. Progress reports (and pics) as and when they happen. It's exciting!

Glad you found the Iris !! Looking forward to your blog :-))))

Hello Sue, I'm afraid it's not going to be a blog - three pictures do not a blog make! I've posted one of the stage we're at at the moment and as I'm working tomorrow, the third photo should show the job done - well, I hope so anyway.
I'll have to think of something else to blog about.

Well I shall look forward to the pictures :-)))
