Found a g8 idea here from member "Balcony", who stacks his Amaryllis plants like pint tumblers in a pub, on his window sills, to maximise space, height and light (check this out). Aim to do so with my pelargonium babes! :-))

It is, especially at the bathroom window, which is of "ugly" frosted glass, and gets light - but not too much - ideal plant decor, and growing conditions, too!

Hi Janette, you may have missed the original pic of the big plant. Reduced from £8 to £2, and I used a free coupon, so it really cost me nowt - Scottish to the core, I am - LOL! :-)

I gave up with that quest when I saw that the GOY pics topped 100,000 the other day - LOL!

Thanks, Motinot. They keep producing flower heads, but am being ruthless and "nipping them in the bud" so to speak. The remains of the parent plant, however, has leafed up nicely and is about to flower - pale pink, I think.

Fantastic that all your cutting rooted really well,David! You must be really chuffed! :-) Looking forward to seeing a photo of them stacked up like I've done with my Amaryllis, glad someone else has profited from my idea! :-)

Which reminds me, since I posted that photo of the Amaryllis in my bedroom & kitchen windows I've added a THIRD tier! No choice really, I still had some more on the balcony & I had NOWHERE to put them! Just had to push some leaves out of the way & squash some pots a little closer together & then put them on a third level.

Oh, Balcony, a THIRD tier? Yours is one of the best space-saving ideas I've ever seen - Thank You again. The parent plant "remains" benefited from the "surgery", by the way. She has leafed up nicely and has a few flower buds. When I saw the "Black Velvet" pelargoniums for sale in high season, the flowers came in all the usual shades. This one is going to have pale pink flowers soon. You won't have to wait until Spring to see them - maybe, by end of this week? :-)

Too right David.At moment have lavender,rosemary,fuschia and ivy cuttings on the go...ready for next spring !

Balcony, am pinching out all flower buds on the rooted cuttings, but the "parent" plant has recovered from my "surgery" and is in bud on my back doorstep. Tried taking a couple of pics earlier this evening, but they have not opened out enough yet. :-)

Only after I posted my comment, when reading your post again, did I realize that you were talking about the original plant. But I thought I would wait for you reply instead of modifying my post.

There's no hurry for a photo of them, after all they're not like Morning Glory or Day Lilies whose flowers last just one day, even though they are replaced by more the next day.
