Love this, forms tuber like a dahlia that can be dug up and overwintered, although do survive in some parts of garden, did dig them up for couple of years but so easy from seed, just grow fresh each year now.

Still flowering too Tommymoo, forms a tuber a bit like a dahlia that you can dig up and overwinter, as not always hardy, saying that had some emerge after the terrible winter last year, most probably be ok for you though in France :-)

It can be very cold down there too; it went down around -7 (c) during the day time, not at night!! My nose got really cold :o) The tuber thing won't appear for the first year?

Crikey thought it was a bit warmer in France, brrrr :-)
Oh yes it will Tommymoo, strange looking thing, lol, I usually just collect the seed and grow fresh each year, really easy and flower the same year, if some survive its a bonus :-) you can take cuttings too, to overwinter, august september time.

The gap of the temperature is just remarkable. It can be very chilly but can be warm(ish) too in winter; 10 degrees or more (c) when the sun shines :) Our place is nearly at the top of the hill and the altitude is about 150m above sea level, maybe that's why, I don't know. I read in the paper that people in the area "hibernate" in winter because it's so cold lol :o) Anyway, thank you for the additional tip!! You are so kind Simbad xx
