Yes Greenthumb.. supposedly 3/4 years........This is now coming up to its 4th.......But as you can see its now so tall that I have to support it when Im moving it around chasing sun Lol

You have done a grand job in growing this hope it flowers next year for you, love the flowers they produce.

I think you can prune to encourage branching after flowering. Then you could manage the size better. Don't know that I'd do anything until I've got those first flowers. They definately do branch out.

You're Plumeria looks very healthy and lush! It's a good idea to tie it up especially when it is young. The branches break easily.

My large Plumeria 'Plastic Pink' in the ground yesterday lost a huge branch during a Santa Ana Wind (which wasn't too strong)...it was pratically half the tree. I had to put a huge stake on it to prevent to whole tree from falling over.
The branch that broke was the branch that had the most flower spikes. : > (

Oh Andy....What a shame, you must have been devastated....Cant you use it for a cutting?.......

Yes, I will use all the branches for new plants. The largest branch will be the easiest to propagate. Generally with plumeria the larger the branch, the easier it is to root.

I have posted photos of the branch with the little broken branches...and what the tree looks like now.

I'm pretty upset...because the tree was doing very well this year...at one time I was thinking about digging it out of the ground...because it hadn't bloomed very well over the years. This year it has many flower spikes. Oh well!
