Thanks, Suey and Morgana. I think the colour is better without flowers - I pruned it hard in the spring so knew it wouldn't flower. Think I'll do it again next year.

We have this plant, nowhere as big as this one, and you say to prune it, looking at its size I will have to, lol

It's well over seven feet, Daisy. Like the new tigridia avatar. :<)

Oh dear it cannot do that, I just wont allow it, glad you like the Tigridia, going to take a chance and leave them in the garden, and then buy some more...belt and braces!!!

Gosh, maybe where you are - no chance here.

Have been out this afternoon and moved all the plants around so the physocarpus can have its way and grow as large as it likes now.....

It looks great there Wagger, interesting that you prune it as hard as you do, i'll bear that in mind.

If you look on my Plants, Louise I've put one not long after it was 'hacked' as the favorite photo with an aquilegia in front and you can see how hard I cut it back. I'll let you into a secret - I forgot all about doing it this spring so it will be a 'monster' again :-((. Just wait until next spring!

I am waiting for this 7 ft monster, how long will it take?
21 May, 2010
It will go to about 10 ft Daisy - mine did it in two years despite being pruned after flowering.

Good, that will suit me fine, now that it is in the right place!!
