Morning of the First Snow Down the Lane

Morning of the First Snow Down the Lane

For Aleyna, she wanted to see the snow. I thought it was wonderful in all the autumn colors still clinging to the trees

Thanks for all these great comments! It was such a wonderful scene, I almost stopped traffic, not that we have much around here. :-) It was just above 0C and the snow was dropping with morning sun just catching all the yellow. I did notice last year the similarity this to englands jan-feb weather. :-) I don't relish the humidity, I'd rather it warmer or colder. I'll post some flowers. :-)

Thank you Sandra. I love sharing and seeing your country as well. :-)

~we are hoping for not quite such a severe winter this year GT~hoping the same for you!

Thanks Arlene. I'm thinking it will be so, this cold is very late here, and mild so far.

~that's good!~those trees must be really quite tall? Ours our changing colour here now and some of the russet shades are gorgeous.
Lots of leaves down in the beech forest near me but still quite dark in there due to the canopy above~so got a long way to go yet!Seems to have been a good year for nuts and berries~

OMG, I am so happy not to be in snow country any more GT, I know the beauty with it all, and miss it terribly at Xmas, bur man shovelling use to break my back. A lovely pic, and hope all your little "babies" are tuck away, safely in side.

Oh dear me :o(((( :o((( How do you cope ? :o((( I just couldn't !!

Lovely photo GT!

Thanks for commenting guys.

Arlene, this forest is old and the trees are all probably 35 ft. Leaves are falling fast now, but still a few groves of them. The fall scene there must be wonderfully beautiful right now.

Doon, I sure get a sore back shovelling now and then, but snow here is like sand, so its not so bad.

Hywel, I just keep plugging along. I haven't even felt cold yet. :-) Might be harder if I wasn't such a homebody. :-)

Thanks Traci, the morning sun was just right in this gold foliage. We've a lovely lane.

Will it clear away for a while do you think , or does it just get worse.

2 Oct, 2009

You really do have a lovely lane. I moan about our so called 'cold' weather but you have it for such a long time GT, don't think I could stand it for that long. Please may I share your photos with a friend of mine in the States, her Husband comes from Alaska and I know they would like to see some of them if that's possible.

I was carried in a nanosecond directly to the roads in Wisconsin...

of course it is gone straight to my favourites!!!!

It is almost all gone now Hywel, though that is unusual, should be staying this time of year. Strange, no snow in October. I've seen 0F this time of year.

Pamazon, feel free to share any photos. Thats is what they are here for. :-) I do love our lane, nice little track hemmed in with these big grand trees.

Thank you Aleyna. When you we mentioning snow, I thought of this photo immediately. It was just the perfect moment. With these fall color is really unusual and short lived here.

Absolutely beautiful Greenthumb.

Thank you Delonix and Skillen. :-) I had to stop and take a picture. The snow in the autumn colors was just magical. This one in particular just came out wonderful. I'm glad you like it. I wish it had stuck around. We are still bare after warming up again. Very risky business bare earth at this time of year.
