Nice walk this morning, but something missing that cute little Black shape rooting in the undergrowth!

Can just imagine Polly chasing and barking at leaves ..sure she had a lovely life with you and your family and at end of day I believe quality of life outweighs quantity ..if lucky to get both then truly blessed.

~It feels so weird having a walk without a dog~we once went about 10 months without one but in the end we got a boxer whose owner had died and needed a home~a bit like falling off a bike you have to get back on no matter how hurt you are!
love x

Thanks everyone for all the kind comments, yes it is strange and sad walking without our little friend and miss her lots, but getting easier now and starting to remember the happier times without being overcome with tears. All part of the grieving and healing process and we are getting there. xxx

We still talk to ours when we go for a walk Carole even though he's not there , we like to think he is in spirit , we talk of all the good times and what a happy life he had with us , we usually finish up laughing at something he had done .. x

Looks a lovely place to walk and I can just imagine Polly rustling through the fallen leaves. Lovely memories, even if tinged with sadness.

Thanks Amy and Gee , we do reminisce as we walk along even though amongst the smiles a little tear may fall!

~we still have one of our pair of boxers from the same litter~Magnum died of cancer Dec 07. Harvey whose picture is on my Avatar was bought by a local surgeon whose wife then decided she needed to go back to work and he was only a few months old. They knew that they couldn't keep him and advertised so we bought him at three months.
There was a decided reluctance on Merls part to accept Harv after Mags died but they are now best buddies and Harv has given Merlin a new lease of life.~

Thats wonderful Arlene, my brother has had Boxers for a number of years his latest is Onslow a beauty at just 15months old. I think if I were on my own I would have another dog, but Harry thinks because we are getting older its time for us to do and see some of things that we havent been able to as it would have meant leaving Polly which we both could never do.

~we leave ours with my daughter when we go and my son is at home over weekends if it is a brief stay ~ we will be looking after Dex her mastiff as well as ours for three weeks from the 17th when they go to New Zealand~two are much better than one because they always have each other for company~
Onslow sounds lovely!

You are going to be very busy Arlene, its good when family can help out with pets, we have never been able to do that as Simon our eldest son works as a social work Manager and works unsociable hours so its difficult as his he works on call even when not in work.
Will see if I can dig up the Picture of Onslow when he was a new puppy!

Beautiful photo Carole and I understand your thoughts and feelings, but Polly is there with you on these favourite walks of hers.
