My Medinilla has been blooming for a month and a half...it's just
about done blooming. Photo taken Oct. 9, 2009.

Is your plant in the ground or a pot? I know in nature they grow as an epiphyte. I've seen very large plants in Hawaii with many huge flower spikes and gigantic leaves to almost 3 feet / 1 meter long.
Mine usually blooms in late summer - fall, however, it only produces one flower spike...it should have flower spikes at every tip. I think it may need to have a lot more fertilizer.

Thanks! I wish I would have taken a photo 3 or 4 weeks ago...it has lost several flowers and a small branch of the flower spike already.

Just beautiful. Mine hasn't flowered anymore since it's first bloom earlier back in autumn this year.
