As a plant, or a tuber, Dd?
19 Oct, 2009
As a tuber Spritz, we forgot we had it and were rather taken aback when it started flowering, had to check my paper work to see where it had come from.

LOL.....that's really funny, Dd!
My goodness - I'm impressed! I USED to be organised and keep a log of everything I did and planted - I really must start again!

Are you going to lift this when the frost hits it Spritz? the reason I ask is that you can split the tubers as long as the split has an eye ,they look like the eyes you get on chitted potates,I,ve done this lots of times with mine....
21 Oct, 2009
I read that in my magazine...no, I was going to leave the Dahlias in, Janette - I honestly can't cope with lifting etc. There's so many other things I still haven't done in the garden! I feel as if I'm running to catch up! So - it'll be the easy way, buying another one next spring, I'm afraid.
Thanks for the info, though!

Your welcome Spritz I think it might be a bit milder with you I always lift mine although I did notice that the couple I left behind last year flower just the same as the ones lifted. One year I,ll be brave and just leave them to it....

We are all hoping that last winter was a one-off, Janette. It doesn't normally get toooooo cold! Thank goodness!
