Well, they are not a hardy plants...being native to Hawaii and
other tropical Pacific Islands. I'm not sure where you would
buy them there in England. Here they are sold at every nursery,
home improvement and grocery store...they are extremely
common. I would try a garden center first...maybe they can
order one for you if they don't sell them there?

There's endless varieties and colors. They are smaller growing than Cordyline australis - Cabbage Palm native to New Zealand...which is very widely grown in California also.
