Have you ever toasted marshmallows over the fire ?
I've tried it and don't see what all the fuss is about, they go too runny for me !

We roasted chestnuts on ours Saturday with the grandchildren , they loved it until one exploded , after that everytime we took some off the fire they ran and hid behind the chair until they thought it was safe to come out .. LOL..

Yum, roasted chestnuts - reminds me of being a child and going to see the C*******s lights in Oxford Street, an annual treat! Your fire looks so cosy, made me feel warm to see it :)

We have roasted chestnuts on xmas eve with hot turkey and cranberry baguettes.....tradition for us....can't wait!! YUUUUUUMMMY!!

Fluff, the chestnuts 'are' nutty, they also have a slight sweetness and they're soft and chewy instead of being hard and crunchy - they are yummy !!!

Louise has answered that one for you Fluff , they are yummy , we knocked the chestnuts off the trees ourselves at Sandringham , we have loads of places where you can pick your own up in Norfolk .. the squirrels love them to ..........

First time I ever had roast chesnuts was at a Bonfire party many years ago. Bloke I was with asked me afterwards was I thought of them. Nice, sez I, but a bit chewy ! You've guessed it .................
