Mourning Dove

The mourning dove makes a very distinct 'coo coo coo,' a slow, mourning cooing sound. If it is going to rain soon, it seems to make them "coo" even more. We have an abundance of them in our yard. You have to get weighted feeders so that they can't just light on the feeder and eat all the seed at one sitting. They would eat until they "pop" I think. Since they are too heavy for the weighted feeders, they sit under them on the ground and eat all the food spilled by the smaller birds which is enough I think.
