Humming Bird

For me, there are two times of the year-- after the humming birds leave and when the humming birds arrive. I've learned to look for them here the first week of April and have their feeder waiting. They usually leave here the second week of October. I talk about them all the time to my husband. I take pictures of them all the time. They get really tame after they get settled in and will almost light on your hand. They cock their little heads and watch you as they rest on the feeders after they drink. They love to fight other humming birds more than to drink their nectar. They lay in wait and pounce on the other humming birds as they come to feed. It is quite a show.

I put the camera on manual focus and wait! I am addicted to taking pictures of humming birds I'm afraid. I spend way too much time at it probably.
