Thank you guys. It just ignored me and kept at its business. Just four feet above my head. I watched for a while and have too many photos if that could be true. Those days where it gets warm enough for him to wake up in winter, I imagine he just crawls out and feasts on a few more twigs. A perfect territory.

Yes, guess that a meal was more on his mind than you, watching! Here, it is almost impossible to get so close, for so long, to Red Squirrels, in the wild, to get a pic. Gr8!!

Thank you. The Red is rare to see during hibernation but we have this freak warmth that keeps getting them back up. I don't think he was completely awake either. :-)

The sun was just perfect Tracy. I couldn't get myself away from these glowing trees.

Thank you Cat. This guy was really toughing it, if living on this huge smorgasborg could be called toughing it. We've got real slanted light all day now, almost to day long sunrise/sunset again already.
