I wouldnt need many to fill a black bag would I. They are really thick, like a dried up shammy leather, lol. The tree still is covered, I'll collect them when they fall.

Certain leaves on trees take a lot longer to rot down that others.

Dont say I'll have to wait ages for my leaf mould then.

If it was me the ones on your grass the small ones I would bag seperately, I only know about the leaves as I use to have an allotment and the council use to deliver them to the allotment off the streets, the trees in my road where I lived at the time they never delivered them because of the length of time to rot down.

Sandra: Thanks for the advice.
BB: No, its not flowered yet - been in about 7 years. We thought we'd lost it a couple of years ago as the winds broke the main trunk but its OK - I'll take a picture in the week. I've seen a mature one, but not in flower, once seen, never forgotten, hey.

Any suggestions Janey :-)
Maybe they do need shredding before they'll rot down.

We use to have large tulip popular trees on our farm in Georgia. The bee's love the flowers and they make great honey. I had a couple of hives and their honey was in great demand.

How lovely that must have been Valerie, having your own bee hives and honey :0
