mum`s had hers about 30 years i think, i read you should only keep them several years if in small garden while still able to remove, alot of tree people wont come and do the job as the spikes are leathal, very sharpe, looks like you have enough room there dawn

Lovely garden you have Dawn all those leaves will turn to black gold as Spritz says lol, the monkey tree is lovely they do grow massive, I remember when I was 10 and my mum moved and over the road was one, it was massive in a small front garden took all the garden up. I went back there a few months ago and now its been cut down.

Morgana: Its a very familiar sight seeing monkey puzzles in tiny front gardens - I wonder why.

Janey: Too much space sometimes :-) lol.
I only created these 2 beds this summer as this part of the garden was all disturbed when the garage was built - there was a mound of clay all along and around the monkey puzzle - Jacque will remember the dreaded clay.

nice pic dawn, my mum has a monkey tree its about 20ft now but to close to her house, to big for her garden really but wont take it down,
