I really thought this one was dead , but as you can see it's green !! :o)

how does this actually grow on trees amy?

Its a parasite, the birds pick the berry, the birds then peck at the tree with still some berry on their beak which the seed is inbeded into the tree and grows from the tree, oak, apple and some other trees it will grow on.

Thanks girls , I rubbed this seed on my apple trees myself , I picked the fallen berries up off the ground where they had fallen in a church yard in Suffolk , I then took the white sticky outer coat of leaving the green seed still sticky and then cut a tiny slit on the tree to push it into , ... I have since read that you shouldn't cut the tree , to late I already did it .....

Oh Yes, brilliant Amy. I'm so pleased they are alive. So this is their 2nd Winter? Mine are still at the little green sucker stage - you know what I mean, lol. We 'set' ours around last Christmas. I must put grease bands on the tree.

We have coxs apples in the draws wrapped in tissue paper Dawn , we didn't do very well with the pears its a new tree , more next year we hope .. :o)

I am thrilled Amy, they just looked dead but looks like they had their roots down. The leaves are very tiny, I am excited, lol
