Thanks all and Marie I think that polyanthus is just another name for Primrose or Primula, Im sure someone will put me right if Ive got it wrong LOL

Its a Polyanthus the difference between a primrose and a polyanthus is that primroses do not have long stems polyanthus like primulars have longer stem, on a primrose you can hardley notice a stem

Thanks Morgana thought it was polyanthus on the label and I do have some Primrose but they mainly flower spring and early summer in my garden!

I asked a nursery chap what was the difference and this is what he said, as I wanted some primroses shortly after my mum died as she was born in Primrose cottage in Pent cea mawr, in Wales to remember her by.

Don't you just love the colours of these late flowers? They really brighten up the garden when everything else is dying off.

I do! just bought some more today to brighten bare patches where I have been cutting back!
