Yes, Gee, we three all have our birthdays in October. my daughter and I share the same day (she got Dorothy, and I got Minnie and Mickey!!!!). My son's birthday is just 2 weeks later, and he got Tin Man (all from my Aunt, who lost her husband earlier this year). My uncle was always in awe of our Wiz of Oz garden - he gave us the huge cuddly lion for that one and, of course, we still have that lion here).

I really like the fact that Dorothy is wearing silver shoes. In the original story, the slippers were silver - only changed to the now fanous ruby ones for the movie, with its tecnicolor innovations.

She found them in a local gift shop, but you can get them online - the whole Oz collection of characters, and a wonderful undulating Yellow Brick Road display stand. Heartwood Creek, by Jim Shore. No doubt, will be adding to our collection. :-))

Happy Birthday to you all. How lovely that your birthdays are all so close, a real family celebration and what a lovely aunt to choose such appropriate gifts. I didn't know that about the silver shoes, you certainly live and learn on GoY :)
