We have some of these in the field next to us , my hubby wouldn't let me make him an omelette ...lol

I don't blame him Amy. I beleive that this is one of the Russula group of fungi and even if they don't kill you they are sure to make you pretty sick. Today I picked some field mushrooms and some puffballs and last week I picked some field mushrooms and some puffballs and some parasols, all of which are delicious.

Aye Toto ..Jane doesnt offer to cook much either but found some pretty red ones with white spots ..thought I d like them but she had no appetite ..

Ah! The Fly Agaric. Does look delicioius though doesn't it!
A friend of mine's wife died recently of serious head injuries. When I asked him how she got them he said that she wouldn't eat the mushrooms.

Amy....neither would my Hubby eat them......seen several different ones in the fields but don't know what is edible and what not......need a book....

I never take a chance. I'll stick to the ones from the grocery store. There are some over here (mushrooms that is, not grocery stores, although we have those too) that are only poisonous if you consume alcohol within a certain amount of time after eating them. I forget what they are called.
