I can tell you that, Tt!! They start in late spring, and if you keep the dead flowers cut back, they continue on and on into autumn!
'Bowles' Mauve' is the one that many people grow - but there are lots of others - I've got a particularly pretty one with variegated leaves.

Great plants I have them too and the Yellow Cloth of Gold as just come into flower again

I think they are to a point, but I've already lost 'Bowles Mauve', I thing they're fairly short lived perennials

Yes OH does take cuttings, we used to grow Bowles Mauve it was enormous.....
