i found a nasty grub today taking out a plant but was darker than this, but about the same size yak

No Terra, nowhere near any shrubs (or Phlox lol). In pots of impatiens which they just LOVE!

You definately want to do that Lily - they are bad news. As you know they love tubs & in particular polyanthus & impatiens - stuff like that. When we moved here, there were some old poly's about - 1st thing I did was get rid of them.
