No didn't Amy, never thought husband keeps saying he wants to have a go at making wine so maybe next year, have another variety too think its called black beauty, not such divided foliage but still pretty.

Love this, bought one this year off ebay so I'm hoping for a show like this next year, well maybe not quite this good yet it's only about 18 inches high:-)

I have two in my back garden and removed one last week ....... wowee, what huge roots it had for a plant that had already been replanted once from elsewhere !!!

May have a go at moving one of mine Louise, have two of another variety, ones not doing well at all don't know why, but comes into leaf then almost immediately all the leaves start to drop, so thought I'd try it somewhere else.

Kathy I make Sambuca syrup with the berries , it very good for colds and costs a fortune in health shops for a small bottle .

I wash the berries and then gently boil them until the juice is thick and syrupy , strain it through a muslin or jelly cloth so that you dont get any of the skin bits , it's an amazing colour .. be very careful if you try it because it stains everything you touch !! I then freeze it in ice cube trays so that you can them take some out as and when you need it .....

Yes Bornagain .. Sambuca is elder , the ones you see growing wild in the hedgerows are the same . just a different colour really ...... I take it by the teaspoon during the day when I have a cold or you can put a cube in and have it as a hot drink to sip ..

This is beautiful. I set one this year, like you say, the pink flowers compliment the dark leaves.
