Thanks everyone - however I was being vague in saying WHEN my 40th actually was. Thanks for all your birthday wishes but now I have to be honest before I feel too guilty in leading you astray. It was last year. My hair's still short though - best thing I ever did; a lot less hassle.

Ooh....you have lovely shiny hair Cg long or short! I bet it feels much better shorter too.....:o)

I did the same when I hit forty, saying I was too old for long hair. Since then I have grown it long , cut it very short, been blonde, brown with highlights, ditto red. Now I'm short haired & blonde with highlights (for a while) I wonder if this is what is meant by life beginning at forty? I'd never dyed my brown hair 'til then:-)

Lol BA ! Life beginning is the start of pleasing yourself instead of others ! :~)))

Forgot to say your hair looks lovely Mrs CG:-) Sue, I'll be bald at this rate and I'm not sure who that will please:-)

Lol ;~)

Wise words, Sue! I'm way WAY over 40 and I have long hair, as in the first pic above.
I don't care what others think, it's called pleasing myself! I always found long hair much easier to care for, can't be bothered with faffing around and titivating and I really don't have time for that!
But Mrs. CG's is gorgeous, long or short....what a lovely shine it has!

Thanks all - I never really think of it being shiny but I guess it is when I see the pics. I like the comment of looking younger Amblealice.

~ mine is always long enough to put up ~ but yours looked absolutely beautiful! My daughters was like that ,in fact she could sit on it and was pale blonde when she had it cut as it took forever to dry and she was swimming every day~ still shoulder length~ I don't think she has ever had it short!

Only ever took me 5 - 10 mins to dry - I never dried it completely to keep it in good condition, but it took a good conditioner when it got to this length to stop the tangles. I've never been one for fussy hair & even now that it's short it's in a style that I simply dry in 5 mins & go.

you had lovely hair, but they do say women at 40 and over it should br shoulder length and above, makes us look younger :o))
