The firepit

My wife was very keen on bonfires, so we decided to have a dedicated space. We had landscaped to give us a flat area near the house, and by chance some curved alumiium sections ended up as scrap from my company, so we used those and some scrap timber to build this. the only new bit was the internal ring of galvanised steel which we made at work purposely.

Morgana, you are definitely psychic..the idea was to have a reservoir at the top and a pond at the bottom, and circulate water around the channel, which has been installed to hold water. Unfortunately my wife's passing has put a hiatus in many things..I'll get around to it in due course, if I can keep on top of the weeding!
Getting a bit fantastical, I did wonder about piping the water underground to waterfall into a rill running along the length of the sunken garden..then pumping it back from there to the top.. ( i used to design pumping staitos some years back!)

This looks great Stevey.....you are lucky to be able to have a fire in the garden. Our by-laws forbid any open fires....mind you, we live in a very dry area.
