And so far we haven't lost anything, and the contributions are still coming in..no doubt it will need fine tuning as things don't work as we envisaged!

You have a lovely big garden....Things are looking good. Fine tuning is always one of the joys of gardening. A garden is never finished. :o)

I don't mind the fine tuning, it's the weeding I have trouble keeping up with..

Then if you don't like weeding and find it hard to keep up with, plant weed supressant plants ground covering, take a look at Terratoonies garden, filled with Aubretia also you could have forget me knots, which are blue self seeding meaning on forget me knots is rememberance which would fit into your theme for remembering you wife. If you also have shrubs as they cast a shadow seldom weeds will grow. It looks lovely

It sounds like when the shrubs grow up it will be less of an isssue..meanwhile, its keep on mulcjhing and out with teh hoie! Trouble is this wet autumn I couldn't do the evening pull a few each day routine..

Not to get so many weeds through the summer best time to clear is autumn and spring.
