This is now over 25 years old started from a seed, hoping for some beautiful cones one of these days?

Oh well done ! I have a set of three Horse Chestnuts that my children picked up 40 years ago and they are still going strong .... they are about 1 ft high now ....... they've never had any conkers ..LOL...
It's special when you grow something from seed ... I hope you do have some cones :o)

Thanks all, we had its Mother in the garden for many years, it was a beautiful tree, it just got too big for the garden, it is nice to know it's baby is still alive and kicking, Wagger it will be buried with us lol

Do you have to have special trees or just trees you keep prunning to keep them small ??

There are some trees that respond to Bonsai better than others, such as Acers, yew, but you can have a go with whatever takes your fancy, look on Google images for a good selection.

That's interesting subject for Bonsai DD! I have just bought one of these and put it in a pot in my 'japanese' area. I'm hoping that it will accept the restriction of 'pot life' as I don't have room for a large one! Do you think your Bonsai will have mini cones?

I am hoping, the tree cones up very early when grown normally, obviously not when it is restricted, still never say never......
