This is a pair of semi-detached cottages provided by the Rothschilds on their estate at Mentmore in Buckinghamshire for their staff. My grandmother kept this and many others in her Photo-album as a memento of her time there working as a laundry maid and we think her husband and or father as a gardener. The cottages are still extant and available for holiday-rental.
