Snowing last night (Fri)

Snowing last night (Fri)

We had what we call "Blin' drift" up here for the previous hour or so - and it was all very peaceful with BIG furry flakes falling.
Mostly iced on this morning and now -5 out there with a poor forecast.again.

Managing to get the old dogs out - and that's what matters! Otherwise hibernating until 2010....LOL

Hi Sixpence - It is still looking like that!! "snow on snow" as the Xmas Carol says lol
It is trying to thaw a wee bit today but no doubt it will ice over again overnight....as usual! Even gravel paths become lethal in these conditions...not so ha ha!!
Seasonal though and the great thing is ALL our gardens look ever so neat and tidy when there is a good covering of snow - don't they!!

They do at least we can not see the weeds lol

Just makes you want to explore down the path, Lovely picture Carol.

The lights are out tonight PP.....I've had a lazy day for once and haven't been encouraging visitors ....how's that for being a recluse!!!!
Tomorrow - normal service will be resumed...LOL

Well its just started to snow here again Carol, thought we had seen the last of it, looking pretty again but I am so longing to spread some bags of Manure a friend gave me, just want it to go away and the sun to warm up the soil. understand you wanting to have some time to yourself. its lovely to have friends and family but also nice to have your own space again!

I feel like it's normal service too.Hubby back in work things are settling down again.

5 Jan, 2010

Nothing normal about our services today unfortunately ...as The Big Freeze continues. We are relatively lucky down on the coast here. We have 150 schools in Aberdeenshire closed and roads were closing as fast as they were being ploughed....as you will have seen on the TV.
The novelty has long since worn off and by the sounds of things it will be about ten days before the temps start to rise and we can really start to get out and about.
The scene above has never gone away and indeed we have had a lot more since but the worst bit is the ice underfoot....and there are going to be a LOT of garden losses this winter - already I have found a few pots split open and the winter pansies giving up the unequal struggle!! Happy gardening, Folks!!
