It is so colourful in the spring - it wakes up by itself and is mindblowing with the colours of the azaleas and new leaves of the acers. We have to work hard to replicate the colour in the summer by adding begonias and some pergoniums, which we have managed to over winter. We also have bizzie lizzies - some of which I have raised from plugs, but mostly I now have to buy in larger sizes since I haven't got the greenhouse space for lots of plants. We have temporary greenhouses on the balcony and in one sheltered, sunny corner of the garden. Other flowers are kept, until the danger of frost is gone, in the back of the garage which has a perspex roof . I do make quite a mess when planting up the containers!!!!

This is stunning. The range of colours is amazing and it all looks so neat.

When we had young children it wasn't like this! A few acers got drastic pruning when the football made contact! Now that the children are grown up we have transferred our caring to the plants!!!
