Mid-summer downunder: Orchid in bloom

Just been given this and I don't know what it's called. The flowers on this orchid are quite small.

Thanks all ... I've never been a big fan of orchids but when I saw this white beauty I started to rave ... and the poor little old lady who was showing me her garden felt compelled to give me some I think!!

Yes it was kind of her Sixpence ... she ripped off (and I mean ripped ... she was not very gentle) quite a few pieces of her orchids so now I'm waiting to see the flowers on those as well.

Please take photos when the ripped off pieces get their act together . It certainly is a beautiful plant. Thanks for comments on my snow arch. It is a very pretty spot to take photos at any time of the year. A happy gardening New Year .

Pansy ... none of them have given up yet which is a good sign! So fingers crossed .. although I'm no expert at growing orchids so I'm hoping they know what to do without my help!

Enjoy the challenge Bernieh. You are too good at gardening, so it will be nice to have something different for you. Are they tree orchids?

Heather ... I'm not sure if it is a tree orchid. I had a GOYer's help in identifying it and I haven't as yet got around to finding out information about caring for it. It was growing in an old mango tree so it probably is!
