It is cold going to even colder this weeks so they said, my plants on north facing covered worse than ever but I seen red sky to night so I live in hope, last week I had knats midges loads of them and it was frosty, I only thought they came out in heat or humidity.

My hall light looks a bit like this, so I know exactly what you mean, Sixpence :)
Seems chillier in Essex than in Kent, Milky - we're frosty with a sprinkling of snow but bright sunshine most of day.
