Young Longan on this tree at Quail Botanical Gardens. This is one my favorite fruits. These fruits will probably be ripe in early sping. Photo taken Jan 5, 2010.

They're not quite ready to eat yet...and the fruit is actually in the semi-hard shell. The fruit inside is soft, white and very sweet...it's related and taste very similar to Lychee fruit.
When this fruit is in season...I can eat many lbs of this fruit a day. I love it! LOL! : > )
