What sort of weather do you usually get this time of year ?

Hywel:

Usually, the part of San Diego where I live...the average high is around 70 degrees F / 21 degrees C. The temps the last week have been from 76 - 85 degrees F / 25 - 30 degrees C. throughout San Diego County and all of Southern California...and it's going to continue to be warm through at least next week Tuesday. It has been feeling a lot like spring than winter.

Last January (2009) we experienced the same type of weather...some cities in Southern California experienced the most consecutive days (close to 3 weeks) of 80+ degrees F. / 27+ degrees C. weather ever recorded.

21 sounds just right to me. Above 25 a bit too hot.
We have about 4 - 5 inches of snow here in west Wales and daytime temp about 5 C. We don't usually get all this snow, and it doesn't usually last so long when we do get it.

Enjoy the warm weather :o))

Hywel:

I really hope the daytime temps warm up for you soon!

It's really strange that most of Europe and the U.S. is experiencing such cold weather this year. I've read most of Europe has had a very cold fall and winter so far...and most of the U.S. has also...in fact, the last 3 or 4 days most of the U.S., including Florida has experienced an actic blast...it's so cold in Florida right now....they're under a state of emergency...many of their crops especially citrus are in jeopardy of being destroyed. Freeze warning cover the whole state all the way down to Miami...which is extremely rare!

Most of the low elevations of California seems to be the only place to escape the cold in the U.S. (with the exception of the tropical Hawaiian Islands)

It's unusual to hear of Florida being cold. I hope things will improve for them there.

Amblealice:

I'll send some warm weather to you...however, you must send us some rain, which we're in badly need of... : > )

Hywel:

Well, it doesn't appear it will soon...they are suppose to have an extended period of cold weather for maybe another 4 or 6 days...another colder arctic blast is suppose to come down from the north and hit Florida later this week. This is not good news for the food crops...it puts more demand on California's crops...and all the produce prices will increase significantly. California's Central Valley experienced an unusual freeze about 3 weeks ago...however, the citrus crops were saved because it only lasted 2 or 3 days...luckily!
