In the early summer when the bog garden is in bloom there really is nowhere else in the garden that can compete. It is pure sunshine.

Beautiful assortment surrounding your pond

Thank you both. I'm not sure that you can see that there is a bamboo behind the yellow trollius. The roots/runners (?) of the bamboo had run under the gravel path, under the bog garden and were inches away from puncturing the pond liner. I had to take urgent action and dug up what felt like the whole garden. One of my neighbours was highly delighted as he was able to plant the roots/runners (?) and get free bamboo plants. Gardening : Always a silver lining ;o)

Yes I can see it, what a shame but Bamboos are known for them spreading their roots depending which kind you have I ve heard. Nice of you to share with your neighbour.

Geoff Hamilton used to speak about 'admiring time'. This is not only good for the soul but a slightly critical look over the garden will identify a problem before it turns into a disaster. So, more wandering aimlessly in the garden suits not only you but the garden too. And, FREE plants...its like Christmas everyday!

You should get friendly with Muddywalters that was his favourite gardener Geoff Hamilton. Yes to me a garden is natures way of healing, so you became Father Christmas to your neighbour then : O )))
