I dug up my Dwarf Tree Fern, Silver Lady Fern a couple of days ago, again. I've had it for about 5 years and its has been moved 3 times. It needs a place in shade with lots and lots of water. This fern is native to Fiji, New Caledonia and Norfolk Island. Photo taken Jan. 7, 2010.

Thanks! It really needed more shade and a lot more water...now to find a new home for it. LOL! Hopefully, it can stay in its future home more than couple of years! : > )

Well it's not looking that unhappy! But I'm sure you'll find the right place for it.

Yes, I guess it doesn't look too bad...however, it should have a couple dozen more fronds on the plant.

Sounds like you need to find your dampest shadiest spot!

That is a lovely looking fern ....:o)))
Ps try pouring some feed into crown that helps more frond to grow on other ferns .Recommended for tree ferns by the experts here ..

A shady spot is possible...a damp spot, unheard here in my yard. LOL! It's very true though. We've had such warm to hot weather here lately...I'm having to water everyday. We so desperately need rain!

Thanks for the information! This fern is very sensitive fertilizers like most plants from Fiji, New Caledonia and Africa. I can give a weak solution of fish emulsion though. : > )
